Welcome! I’m W.R. Gingell, and I’ll be your host today! With me are nine other authors (it’s okay, I didn’t kidnap them; they’re with me in spirit—no, wait, now it sounds like they’re dead).
Let me start again. With me are nine other authors; together, we’re the collective behind the noblebright boxed set, Luminous, which was put together by C. J. Brightley and published by Spring Song Press.
What is noblebright? I’m glad you asked! (What’s that? You didn’t ask? I’m going to tell you anyway…) Noblebright fantasy, as defined by the amazing C. J. Brightley, is fantasy set apart by a sense of hope. Noblebright fantasy includes at least one character who, although flawed, still deliberately pursues goodness. And that goodness has the power to make a difference. In a noblebright story, even villains are not without hope. Their redemption isn’t guaranteed, of course, but it is a possibility.
Sound like your thing? We’ve got you covered! Luminous is a collection of 10 different books, each with a noblebright theme to them; from fairy kings to underground kingdoms, from magic school tales to rewritten fairytales. And over a period of three weeks, we’re celebrating the release of Luminous with a giveaway and author interviews where you can get to know the authors.
You can follow our schedule below; it will be updated as each post goes live.

I haven’t read much Noblebright but it sounds interesting.
Hitomi from Sunbolt is my favorite, but I also really like W.R. Gingell’s characters.
Life needs more noblebright tales to inspire! And the giveaway goodies look great!
Awesome!! This sounds amazing!
I’m not sure I have a favorite character, though I can think of several greats in the Chronicles of Narnia – and I mean in each and every book. It seems there was always a character or two who was a villain-turned-almost hero (or hero). I loved The Chronicles of Narnia and have read each book dozens of times over the course of my life.
I thought I commented before but now don’t see my comment. I love Hitomi, Intisar Khanani’s character in Sunbolt and am working my way through the ebook.
I would definitely put Brandon Sanderson’s books on the Noblebright list. He develops many heroes in his series that, although growing and flawed, are set apart by a deep conscience to do good. Well worth the read!
I don’t think I’ve read any Noblebright fiction, but I love the idea of providing hopeful fantasy–there’s so much out there that’s way darker than I’d like to read! Thanks for putting together such a fun giveaway!
I have only read Sunbolt, so Hitomi is my favorite Noblebright character. Thank you for the stellar giveaway contest. 🙂
This is awesome! Thank you ^_^
